PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Public Works will have an eye to the sky this weekend.
A snowstorm is expected to begin Saturday night and go through Sunday morning, bringing anywhere from 3-6 inches of snow when it’s all said and done.
Public Works says travel conditions could become hazardous this weekend with the snow, below zero wind chills, and gusty winds. The department anticipates slick and snow-covered roads during the snowfall.
They’re encouraging people to stay home this weekend, unless travel is absolutely necessary. If one must travel, drivers should be alert, slow down, and allow extra time to reach their destination.
Snow crews are expected to start clearing operations Saturday at 7:00 P.M.
