PEORIA, Ill. – It looks like frigid cold temperatures and wind chills well below zero won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
25 News First Alert Chief Meteorologist Brian Walder says First Alert Weather Days will continue through Monday morning due to the cold temperatures and snow.
“Wind chills will be as low as -15 to -20 Saturday morning. We could see a few isolated to scattered snow showers Saturday afternoon, but widespread snow is expected Saturday night and into Sunday morning. The snow is expected to wrap up around lunchtime on Sunday, with a few inches of snow possible,” Walder says.
Dangerous cold sets in again Monday morning with wind chills as low as -20 to -25.
A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect Saturday afternoon through Sunday night for all of Central Illinois.
