PEORIA, Ill. — Two 17-year-old boys were taken into custody Tuesday evening after a brief chase with Peoria Police.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. in the area of Spring and Glendale. Officers were attempting to locate a wanted juvenile when both teens ran off.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth said following their arrest, officers recovered a loaded gun from one of the boys. Both of them were taken to the Peoria Police Department for questioning before being taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
Charges filed against the two teen boys include:
- Wanted Juvenile: Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and Motor Vehicle Theft.
- Second Juvenile: Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of an Unserialized Firearm, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, and two active warrants.
