LINCOLN, Ill. – The National Weather Service in Lincoln says a squall line over West-Central Illinois Friday night produced substantial straight-line wind damage with embedded tornadoes.
Preliminary reports showed at least seven observed tornadoes occurred across Fulton, Mason, Tazewell, Logan, McLean, and Champaign counties, with the worst damage reported near Bloomington-Normal.
EF-1 tornadoes were confirmed in Marquette Heights and Mackinaw, and an EF-0 tornado was confirmed in Morton Friday night.
The NWS deployed multiple survey crews over the weekend to assess the damage. Additional tornadoes could still be confirmed.
