PEORIA, Ill. – Around 7 a.m. Friday, Peoria County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home in the 1800 block of Kickapoo Creek Road, on reports of a man found in someone’s garage.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says deputies arrested the man, identified as 52-year-old Christopher Richerson, who was wanted by Tazewell County for Aggravated Battery and Attempted Murder Thursday night.
Richerson’s car was earlier found on N. Carola Court in Peoria. Police conducted a search of the woods nearby, but could not find Richerson.
He had been described as “armed and dangerous” by police. Richerson will be released to Tazewell County investigators.

(PEORIA, IL) – Peoria Police, along with the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, is searching for a wanted man who should be considered armed and dangerous.
52-year-old Christopher R. Richerson is a white male who is wanted on Aggravated Battery and Attempted Murder charges out of Tazewell County. Richerson is approximately 6-foot tall and weighs 240 lbs.
Richerson’s empty vehicle was found in the area of the 4400 block of N. Carola Court in Peoria. A coordinated search involving Peoria Police officers, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, and a police drone was conducted in the surrounding woods. Despite these efforts, Richerson was not found.
Police say Richerson should not be approached. Instead, call 911 immediately if you see him.
