MORTON, Ill. – A former leader for the village of Morton has passed away.
25 News reports Ronald Rainson died earlier this month at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at the age of 85. Rainson was mayor of Morton from 2013 to 2017.
During Rainson’s tenure, he led work to expand Interstate 74, as well as interchange improvements. The work included widening I-74 to three lanes in each direction, and improving the I-155 interchange.
Rainson also served as Chairman of the Central Illinois Red Cross.
