PEORIA, Ill. – Major General Dan McDonough has been honored for his nearly 40 years of service with the Illinois Air National Guard.

McDonough retired as the Commander of the Illinois Air National Guard, but previously commanded the 182nd Airlift Wing in Peoria.

McDonough says he plans to continue to serve, as he joins the Greater Peoria Honor Flight organization as their Director of Operations.
