LINCOLN, Ill. – The most violent tornado from Thursday’s severe weather has been rated by the National Weather Service
After completing a survey on Friday, the NWS says an EF-3 tornado rolled through rural Washburn for 19 minutes.
The tornado touched down at 4:56 P.M., had estimated peak winds of 155 MPH, with a maximum width of 930 yards, and tracked for more than 11 miles while crossing the Woodford-Marshall County line.
An NWS survey says all walls from a log house collapsed, and damaged numerous roofs, trees, and crops.
There were no injuries reported in the tornado’s aftermath.
The National Weather Service also says the Morton/Deer Creek tornado has been rated an EF-1, tracking 13 miles, with winds between 86-110 miles per hour.
