PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria Fire Department is promoting from within for its vacant Chief of Prevention role.
It was opened when Nate Rice retired from the department earlier this month to take an assistant chief role in the Normal Fire Department.
Chief Shawn Sollberger announced Friday that Josh Harris has been promoted as the new Chief of Prevention.
Harris has been part of the department’s Prevention Bureau for the past ten years.
To fill Harris’ role, Sollberger announced that Captain Paramedic Ryan Brady was promoted to Fire Investigator.
