TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – West Nile Virus has been found again in Tazewell County.
The county health department on Wednesday announced that a mosquito pool collected in Washington on July 10th tested positive for the virus. The testing took place on Monday.
The virus was first found in Tazewell County this year in late-May in Pekin.
The health department is urging people to take precautions, as mosquitos carrying the virus can travel for up to two miles.
People are being encouraged to remove and eliminate pools of standing water, using an insect repellent with DEET, and wearing long-sleeved clothing.
