PEORIA, Ill. – A familiar face intends to jump back into the race for Peoria City Council.
Chuck Grayeb, a longtime staple on the council, announced Monday in a Facebook post that he’s running for one of the five at-large seats up for grabs in the spring of 2027. He’s getting a head start on the campaign trail, noting that candidate petitions are due in October.
Grayeb served as an at-large councilman for twelve years, from 1995 to 2007, and more recently represented the 2nd District from 2013 to 2025.
Grayeb says he’s ready to go back to work for constituents from day one.
“I appreciate the many years of support you have given me, and, together, we are running to promote the ideas and policies we feel are important to have a truly healthy and great City, where we all wish to live,” Grayeb says.
