PEORIA, Ill. – Two people are displaced after a kitchen fire Friday in Peoria’s East Bluff.
Peoria Fire crews were called just before 10:15 P.M. to the home in the area of Corrington and Maryland, finding smoke from the two-story home.
The fire was put out within five minutes before it could spread to the rest of the home.
An investigator determined the fire was due to unattended cooking.
The two adults in the home escaped before fire crews arrived, and secured temporary housing through family members.
One adult male took himself to the hospital for treatment of a minor burn on his hand.
No firefighters were injured.
