PEORIA, Ill. (25News Now) – The Peoria County Coroner’s Office said it was a 30-year-old local woman who was shot to death Monday afternoon before crashing her vehicle into a South Peoria business.
Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the victim as Dionna Causey of Baskin Ridge in Peoria.
Harwood said the autopsy showed Causey suffered multiple gunshot wounds throughout her body. The coroner said she was pronounced dead in the operating room of OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center at 5:22 p.m.
Peoria Police said they her in the sport utility vehicle after it crashed into the business known as Da Catch, attached to City Market, at Western and Howett shortly before 1:30 p.m.
No suspect information was available, according to a Peoria Police news release late Monday night.
