PEORIA, Ill. – No one was injured after a vehicle caught fire inside an automotive garage in Peoria Thursday evening.
The Peoria Fire Department was called to 306 Bryan Street around 6:30 p.m. and arrived to find smoke coming from the rear of the building.
Firefighters entered the garage and found a vehicle on fire. Crews extinguished the flames before they could spread further into the rafters above the vehicle.
Firefighters searched the building and confirmed no one was inside at the time of the fire. Crews then ventilated the building to clear smoke and gases.
No firefighters or civilians were injured.
A fire investigator determined the fire was accidental. Damage is estimated at $75,000.
