PEORIA, Ill. (25 News) – Gander Outdoors, which replaced Gander Mountain at the same location at 5114 West Holiday Drive near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie in Peoria, has closed.
A sign posted on the door did not cite a reason for the closing, but stated in part, “We have enjoyed serving our customers in the community and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the store.”
The building originally housed Gander Mountain, which closed after its parent company filed for bankruptcy, according to the International Business Times.
Camping World and CEO Marcus Lemonis bought Gander Mountain’s assets in bankruptcy court back in 2017.
In 2018, the Peoria location of Gander Outdoors was announced. A grand opening was held on June 9, 2018.
