FARMINGTON, Ill. – Two students were removed Wednesday night from Farmington High School after an alleged fight.
Farmington Police were called to the high school just before 7:25 p.m. According to police, while off campus, one of the juveniles sent a threat on Snapchat to the other that included a picture of a gun.
Police say there was never any threat to Farmington High School and the campus was never placed in lock down, since the alleged threat was made and received away from the school.
As a precaution, an officer remained on scene until the juvenile who made the threat was taken into custody.
Police say the gun, that looked like a Glock pistol, was actually an airsoft gun.
Farmington officers and Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies located the juvenile that made the alleged threat at his home, where he was taken into custody.
The boy was released to his parents with a county juvenile intake for aggravated assault.
Police say the second juvenile was brought to the Farmington Police Department by his parents and given a Peoria County juvenile intake for aggravated battery for the fight at the high school.
