PEORIA, Ill. – Bond has been set at $500,000 for the woman police say stabbed and killed a man who turned out to be her boyfriend.
Heaven Kruzan, 22, made her first appearance in court Friday afternoon after allegedly stabbing Lamario Billups, 34, Wednesday afternoon.
Billups died at a hospital not long after the incident near Stanley and Krause in South Peoria.
25 News reports Billups and Krause were dating, and Kruzan allegedly gave police a false name at first.
It’s believed the two were arguing when Billups allegedly grabbed Kruzan by the arms before she allegedly stabbed him.
Kruzan is scheduled to be back in court April 6th for an arraignment hearing.
The death marks Peoria’s third homicide of the year.
