PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was convicted of the second of several sexual assaults he’s accused of committing in 2020.
Court records indicate Marquiese Talley, 32, was handed the sentence Wednesday following his January conviction on counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault and Armed Robbery.
He assaulted a woman during the early morning hours one day in July 2020, threatening to shoot her if she did not comply.
Talley previously was sentenced to 80 years in prison for a similar assault that had occurred two weeks earlier, but State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says, under similar circumstances.
The second conviction required a life sentence.
“Marquiese Talley spent his life preying upon women in our community. He can now spend the rest of it praying in prison.” said Hoos, in a news release.
