PEORIA, Ill. – A man has pleaded guilty for his role in connection to a Valentine’s Day robbery at a Peoria apartment complex.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 25-year-old Anthony Morris pleaded guilty on Wednesday to Aggravated Robbery.
The incident occurred on February 14th earlier this year at the Lexington Hills Apartment Complex, where a victim reported a knocking on the door and was met by two men after opening it.
Morris, reportedly with a gun, pushed the door open and forced his way in. He then reportedly held the gun to the head of one of the occupants and demanded their phone, car keys, credit cards, and jacket.
The other individual involved, Haywood Drummond, pleaded guilty in September to aggravated robbery and was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison.
Prosecutors say remaining charges in the case were dismissed in exchange for Morris’ guilty plea, as well as an agreement to a maximum prison sentence of 12 years. He will be sentenced in January.
