WASHINGTON, Ill. – Five Points Washington has launched a $3 million capital campaign to fund improvements to its aquatics facilities, performing arts center and community gathering spaces.
The organization announced Monday that it has already raised more than $1.8 million during the initial phase of the campaign and is now opening the fundraising effort to the public.
The campaign, called “Reimagine the Future of Our Community,” will fund improvements focused on accessibility, safety and functionality throughout the facility.
Plans include work at the aquatics facilities and community spaces, along with upgrades to lighting, sound, rigging, flooring and other systems at the Caterpillar Performing Arts Center. F
“This campaign is not simply about updating a facility—it is about investing in people,” Executive Director Vikki Poorman said. “Every improvement will help us continue creating opportunities for people to move, learn, connect, celebrate and belong.”
Five Points says approximately 600,000 visits are made to the facility each year. The community center opened in 2007 and includes an aquatics center, fitness center, gymnasium, senior center, meeting and banquet spaces and the Caterpillar Performing Arts Center.
The campaign comes as Five Points approaches its 20th anniversary.
